________________________________________________________ The 2012 Class is Now Full
The Texas AgriLife Extension Service and its volunteer arm The Highland Lakes Master Gardeners, will be starting a new class to become a Texas Master Gardener on March 6, 2012. The classes will be on Tuesday afternoon from 1 to 5 pm for 10 weeks. The classes will be held mostly at the First United Methodist Church Education Center on the east side of HEB in Marble Falls and other area locations. Please check out the page to see if you would like to join us in the Master Gardener Program. The Master Gardeners are a volunteer arm of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service. All residents of Burnet County and the Kingsland, Horseshoe Bay, and Buchanan Dam area of Llano County are invited to participate in the program. It doesn't matter if you are experienced or new to gardening, you will really enjoy this experience. The instructors are some of the best in the state with some being local experts that are knowledgable about the plants for our area. You will learn how to have a successful garden in the Texas Hill Country. You will be required to participate in some fun gardening activities in the community to be certified. With activities like Farmers Market, children's projects, local gardening projects in Burnet County and Kingsland, Green Thumb Program, Helping Center garden and the Hill Country Lawn & Garden Show you will have your 50 hours in no time. The cost for the entire program will be $150 which will include all course materials, refreshments, club dues and a soil and water test. Class size is limited so get your application in early. Remember that the Master Gardener designation is to be used only for Master Gardener activities and cannot be used for commercial purposes.
